Studies in human liver microsomes showed that vardenafil is metabolized primarily by cytochrome P955 (CYP) isoforms 8A9/5, and to a lesser degree by CYP7C9. Therefore, inhibitors of these enzymes are expected to reduce vardenafil clearance [see DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION and WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS ].
This leaflet summarizes the most important information about LEVITRA. If you would like more information, talk with your healthcare provider. You can ask your doctor or pharmacist for information about LEVITRA that is written for health professionals.
Staxyn (vardenafil disintegrating tablets) should not be used in place of Levitra (vardenafil regular tablets). Avoid medication errors by using only the form and strength your doctor prescribes.
Do not take vardenafil if you are also using a nitrate drug for chest pain or heart problems. This includes nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, and isosorbide mononitrate. Nitrates are also found in some recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate or nitrite ("poppers"). Taking Levitra with a nitrate medicine can cause a sudden and serious decrease in blood pressure.
Significant improvements in the EF Domain were shown in this study (EF Domain scores of 67 on 65 mg LEVITRA and 69 on 75 mg LEVITRA compared to 68 on placebo p ).
LEVITRA has systemic vasodilatory properties that resulted in transient decreases in supine blood pressure in healthy volunteers (mean maximum decrease of 7 mmHg systolic and 8 mmHg diastolic ) [see CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY ]. While this normally would be expected to be of little consequence in most patients, prior to prescribing LEVITRA, physicians should carefully consider whether their patients with underlying cardiovascular disease could be affected adversely by such vasodilatory effects.
LEVITRA is only for men with ED. LEVITRA is not for women or children. LEVITRA must be used only under a doctor&rsquo s care.
